I am starting to write this while I am on my way to an event, 20 km away from my home. The Delhi traffic is such that it’s going to take me at least an hour and a half to reach the venue, and so I am trying to make the most of it.
A week back I ended up being at the Bhane store & was amazed at the way they have played with denim, from colour block to distressed to uniquely washed ones, they have it all.
I totally love denim on denim and wanted to do a look for you’ll, But the fact that it used to be considered a fashion faux pas and was a dangerous territory made me curious to try it out all the more.
Coming to the outfit, This one is a beautifully crafted colour block dress with grey denim at the back & the sleeves and blue in the front. I sadly don’t have pictures of the back, but the dress itself looks fab! I layered it with a denim long sleeveless jacket with an edgy detail at the hem and raw edge detailing at the front opening. Totally, avant-garde.
Also, I just had to add a pop of colour to the outfit because hey what’s life without colour? So, the scarf around my neck in a rolled loop is from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam from a boutique called khaisilk. They use high-quality silk made into pieces of art; It is surely the place to be to get handmade silk clothing & accessories if you happen to visit.
My shoes/Juttis are from Arpita Mehta x NeedleDust; I am a fan of mirror work and when I got to know about her collaboration with NeedleDust I just had to get myself a pair. It has hand embroidered pink threadwork flowers with triangular mirrors & beads, quite intricate.
